Sons of Guns

Greythorn is in the fortunate position of having a number of players who are the sons of former AFL players.

We have the sons of no less than five former AFL players scattered amongst our various teams.

Naturally we hope that at least some of their Dads' considerable abilities have been passed on to their offspring.

The former AFL players at our club are:

  • Collingwood Legend and member of Collingwood's Team of the Century Peter Daicos - father of Josh.

  • Carlton champion and 'Fullback of the Century'- Stephen Silvagni - father of Jack and Ben.

  • Collingwood champion wingman - Graham Wright - father of Ethan and James

  • Collingwood champion utility - Gavin Crosisca - father of Riley and Josh

  • Richmond great - Bruce Tempany - father of Riley

In the case of Jack Silvagni a fair amount of his father's ability has already come to the fore in the form of awards for Best on Ground performances in the last two Grand Finals, two Best & Fairest club awards and Runner Up in the YJFL award.

As for the Collingwood players the three of them each have a Magpie tatooed on their ankle. (Collingwood supporters will know the significance of that).
