For a number of years our club has held an endorsement as an AFL Victoria Quality Club.
These endorsements are not easy to obtain and it's something we guard very jealously.
To be endorsed, a club has to demonstrate that it strives to do all the right things to promote a healthy environment for everyone and to promote a spirit of true sportsmanship. It also has to show that it takes the correct steps with its administration to ensure that its coaches and officials are properly qualified for their appointed roles.
There are many criteria that have to be complied with in order to qualify but suffice to say that the endorsements have to be earned.
We believe that these requirements perhaps assume a more significant level of importance for junior clubs where it's essential that young impressionable players are given the right guidance.
Obviously, it's important that the endorsements are reviewed on a regular basis to ensure the clubs maintain their level of 'quality' consistently rather than just at the time they were endorsed.
We are pleased to announce that our 'Silver Level' endorsement has just been confirmed and we remain a Quality Club.
This endorsement is a tribute to the committee, our coaches and officials and to our vast number of volunteers who give so much.
The Greythorn Football Club thanks everyone associated with our club - not only for making it an AFL Victoria Quality Club but for also making it a great club and one that we can all feel proud of.
