Sport is critical to develop lifelong traits in our children in order to
best equip them with the adversities that adulthood throws at us.
Attributes learnt on the basketball court or footy field are directly
transferable to other aspects of our lives. Resilience and perseverance are
just two obvious examples.
An evening of speakers - elite athletes has been put together - to discuss
their views, and provide you with tools to mitigate the risk of your
boy/girl falling into depression, or worse, in later life.
On Tues 16th March, at 7pm you are invited to Xavier College to listen to
Mick Malthouse (Collingwood Coach),
Mike McKay ( Oarsome Foursome Dual Gold Olympic medallist) and
Harry O'Brien (AFL player).
Tell your family and friends about the event. Your kids are free whilst
adults are only $20. All monies raised goes to aid depression and suicide
via the N.I.C.K Foundation - this is a charity established by some friends
who tragically lost their 20 year old son last Feb.
Please book by contacting our secretary - Leigh Cronin on 0406 420 021 or by email. |
